Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Do you ever desire that things were different with your marriage, relationships, children, career, health, etc.? Does life ever seem impossible to you? For many of us the answer to these questions will be “yes” from time to time. With the busyness of life and upcoming back to school schedules, many of us will find ourselves feeling a bit overwhelmed in a few weeks. For others, the sense of being overwhelmed has been their constant state over the past several weeks, months, or maybe years.

This month’s newsletter includes an article from one of our counselors, Sydney Bond. In her article, Sydney writes about what it looks like to walk in faith and obedience regarding our God-given responsibilities, while entrusting our concerns to the Lord. In order to do this, we must view our responsibilities and concerns through the lens of the Bible. Doing so, helps us to understand the difference between what we are responsible for and what God is responsible for. This also helps us to understand that we are to entrust our concerns to the Lord in a way that ultimately desires for his kingdom come and his will be done (Matthew 6:9–13; 26:39). We do this while faithfully serving the Lord regarding the responsibilities that He has given us (examples: 1 Corinthians 10:31; Ephesians 5).

Please take the time to read this article in its entirety and look through the counseling resources provided. I pray that you find these resources to be helpful to you personally and to those you are investing in. One of the main goals of our newsletter is to provide education and information that is helpful to our readers. If there is ever a topic that you would like for us to address in our newsletter, please email your suggestion or topic to me at jeremy@easttnbc.org.
